Drinking. And food.
Mostly about drinking.
I love drinking. (And I love smoking, which is a different story.)
Getting straight to it, which I like to do:
Tonight the Whip-In, in Austin, TX, tapped their seasonal Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers. Being in the retail industry, and a friend, I attended their celebration. Delightfully, they sold these brews at $3 a piece all night long, and I reconnected with Dogfish Head's Punkin' Ale, as well as hometown favorite, Live Oak's OaktoberFest. A grand ol' time was had by all, made most apparent to me when a college-faced man drunkenly dropped a Brooklyn Oktoberfest bottle at my feet upon re-entry to the establishment.
I feel a need to remark on my grandiose love of the staff. They have the best dispositions of any bar/restaurant/convenience store staff that I have ever patronized. Their work environment is so unique and specialized that one cannot help but applaud their abrupt, yet honest, service. You wanna talk beer? They'll talk, but ask them about baseball, or fire-fighting, or yoga, and you'll get much more than a shit-shooter over some hops.
